Say what you will about Christmas themed movies – that they are saccharin-sweet, too wholesome, formulaic – but they have fans. Many fans. And, what do people also love? Visiting places where movies are filmed.

Nothing says Holiday Season like a slew of sappy Christmas Movies. So, why not show off Connecticut’s many charms while capitalizing on the popularity of both?

That was the impetus behind the Connecticut Christmas Movie Trail, created for those who love the season, love these holiday films, and love traveling together to get in the holiday spirit. Check out the movie and filming locations below, and follow this CT Christmas Movie Trail map to see your favorites.

Although you can go any time of year, it’s best to visit in December throught February, when there’s a better chance of snow, you’ll have to bundle up, and the inns and B&B’s are extra cozy.

You’ll find most of these film locations in our Best Romantic Getaways in CT post, but if you’re looking for more to do under each movie listing, just click on the respective link.
